I January 2018 I had a basal cell carcinoma removed from my left nostril by Mohr’s Procedure, followed by two operations to reconstruct this area. From my first appointment to my discharge a few weeks ago the level of care, efficiency and education was absolutely excellent. Over my treatment I was looked after by various teams and their communication was outstanding too. Although I had a level of anxiety before this was undertaken, Mr Anari’s gentle, calm and caring approach reduced this considerably. Finally, the outcome of my surgery is aesthetically amazing.....THANK YOU

I was diagnosed most unexpectedly, with a Malignant Melanoma on my right nostril, at a time when I was extremely vulnerable, as my daughter had recently suffered a serious injury. I was extremely anxious about the future for both of us. However, my fears were soon allayed because of Mr Shahram Anari's understanding and comforting approach. I found him to be not only an amazing Surgeon, but also a Doctor who was such a brilliant approach and bedside manner. He explained that I would need 3 operations to remove the melanoma and reconstruct my nose. This sounded extremely daunting and frightening but his explanation of each procedure was delivered with sensitivity, in terms that I could understand and he gave me as much time as I needed, to ask any questions, no matter how trivial. He told me that I could expect a good result as far as my physical appearance was concerned and that was most comforting too as although my looks weren't as important as getting rid of the offending growth and surrounding tissue, I just couldn't imagine how it was possible to remove such a large amount of tissue and give me a 'new nose'. I was given very precise instructions as to how to care for each of the areas, after every operation and Mr Anari was keen that my husband had a full understanding of what my care plan should be - its not always easy for the patient to take everything in and it was a great plus point that we were both informed as to how to look after the areas, in order to achieve the best possible outcome. My 3 operations went very well indeed and nothing that I experienced was unexpected. I was looked after extremely well by all the Staff who were involved in my care and treatment - on the Wards, in Theatre and Outpatients Department. So many members of Staff spoke very highly indeed of Mr Anari and reassured me that I was in safe and very capable hands. How right they were! Mr Anari also has a wonderful sense of humour that was much appreciated and lightened many a dull moment. He is an outstanding Professional and such an excellent role model for his entire team. He is so modest and humble and really does deserve much praise and recognition for his surgical skills and aftercare. Finally, I am so delighted to report that the outcome of my nasal reconstruction is almost unbelievable! It is only 5 months since my last operation but already, it is difficult to see that I have a 'new nose'. The skin graft was taken from my forehead but the scar has healed so well - how Mr Anari managed to bring the skin together and so smoothly, I will simply never know. I have met people who hadn't known about my diagnosis and they have expressed much surprise that Ive actually had such invasive surgery and have said I don't look any different. What better compliment could anyone pay and I will be eternally grateful to Mr Anari for such a fantastic result and I can't thank him enough. Marie Morley

I had a nasal reconstruction surgery done in May 2018 by Mr Anari following a Basel Cell Carcinoma on my left nostrail, he explained everything that would be done to me and what the outcome would be , unfortunately my procedure didn’t work , the skin graft died , which was nothing to do with the way he carried out the procedure, it was due to the blood supply, Mr Anari seen me straight away to explain everything to me , which I was very pleased with . At the beginning of September this year , I had another procedure done by using cartridge taken from my left ear to graft on to the hole at the side of my nostril, it was a 50/50 chance of taking , Mr Anari explained everything to me regarding the procedure and the aftercare, luckily it has worked this time . I would like to thank him for all he has done and I am really pleased with the outcome.

In the hands of Mr.Anari, I felt well looked after in every way. He explained very carefully his procedure for the removal of a BCC on my nostril. Also answered every question in easily understood terms. A charmer with a pleasant sense of humour.
